Tengo un hijo de un poco más de 2 años de edad y por mi experiencia, te puedo decir que cada vez que estoy nerviosa, tensa o deprimida, mi hijo se pone tenso, nervioso o de pronto llora mucho. He platicado con varias amigas que tienen hijos, y viven la misma experiencia. Y es que nuestros hijos sienten todo lo que sentimos, nuestra vibración y la realidad sutil que hay a su alrededor. Por eso es fundamental que como mamás tomemos todos los cuidados para estar bien física, mental y emocionalmente, y así poder darles lo mejor a nuestros hijos.
Te comparto varias recomendaciones de las filosofías védicas como el Yoga y el Ayurveda que te servirán de guía.
Antes del parto
La futura madre ha de prepararse para este gran acontecimiento de la vida antes del parto. Es fundamental reconocer, digerir y asimilar que su vida será totalmente diferente una vez que su hijo nazca. Aunque la próxima mamá tenga planes de seguir con su trabajo y dejar a su hijo en una guardería o con familiares, la vida será totalmente diferente.
Es importante que haga un ritual en donde se despida de su vida como la conoce y ofrezca espiritualmente su energía para servir y darle lo mejor de ella al ser que está por llegar. Entre más saludable, contenta y en paz se esté como mamá, el bebé también lo estará. Ver la maternidad como un servicio o práctica espiritual, es lo que te puede dar la fuerza para vivir de la mejor manera posible esta nueva experiencia de vida.
La cuarentena
En la mayoría de las tradiciones ancestrales se recomienda que la mujer cumpla la cuarentena. Por ley la mujer tiene 40 días de reposo después del parto para estar con su bebé y recuperarse física y emocionalmente. Sin embargo, hay mujeres que en menos de dos semanas están listas para volver a su vida cotidiana. Las tradiciones védicas explican que la madre y el bebé comparten una misma aura durante los primeros 40 días y es por eso que tú y tu bebé necesitan atención, descanso y permanecer juntos. Esto les dará seguridad a ti y a tu bebé.
Descanso
Las primeras 6 semanas después del parto, es muy importante que descanses. Yogi Bhajan, maestro del norte de India, sugería que la mujer tomara al menos dos siestas de una hora al día durante los primeros 40 días de vida de su bebé. No te sientas mal por dormir y por no hacer nada. Este espacio de descanso es lo que te permitirá digerir la experiencia por la que has pasado e integrarla en tu vida. Es normal que te sientas emocional y es necesario darle espacio a esas emociones. No es momento de pensar en hacer ejercicio para recuperar la figura ni de tener actividades, sino de estar presente contigo, con tus emociones y con tu bebé.
Lactancia
La mejor manera de fortalecer el vínculo afectivo entre madre e hijo es amamantándolo. Hoy en día muchas mujeres prefieren evitar pasar por la lactancia por cuestiones de belleza física, o porque no quieren darse el tiempo de estar cada tres horas amamantando al recién nacido. Sin embargo, amamantar estimulará tu sistema glandular para que el útero regrese a su tamaño normal; y la leche materna le dará al bebé una gran cantidad de nutrientes y anti cuerpos que lo protegerán y así tendrá las bases de una vida saludable a lo largo de su vida.
Consiéntete
Ante la gran cantidad de emociones y el agotamiento físico que sucede en los primeros días después de dar a luz, es muy recomendable que recibas todo el “apapacho“ que sea posible. Ya sea que un profesional o un familiar te de regularmente un masaje en los pies o en el cuerpo, este es el momento de recibir cariños y consentirte. Aplica aceite de almendras dulces tibio sobre tu piel y luego toma un baño de tina, es una gran idea que seguramente te hará sentir bien, sobre todo si te sientes emocional.
Terapias alternativas
Las flores de Bach te pueden ayudar mucho en el proceso de equilibrar tus emociones después del parto. La acupuntura puede apoyar la producción de leche o simplemente para que te relajes. La homeopatía te ayudará en cualquier desequilibrio que padezcas. Siempre es mejor consultar a tu médico antes de tomar estas terapias, pero en general son recomendables porque no tienen ningún efecto sobre el bebé, sobre todo si estás amamantando.
Come bien
Comer alimentos dulces como los que provienen de la avena, el arroz integral, la tapioca, las frutas y la miel de abeja; alimentos calientes como sopas y tés son muy recomendables después del parto. No es momento de hacer dietas, sino de nutrirte y comer alimentos enteros, frescos y naturales. Recuerda que con esto te alimentas a ti y a también a tu bebé. Toma mucho agua. Incluye frutas y verduras en tu dieta. Evita comer alimentos irritantes como el chile, alcohol, cebolla, chocolate y ajo o que causen gases como la col, el pepino, la calabaza, brócoli o los melones. Para evitar el estreñimiento, camina al menos media hora diaria y para fortalecer tus nervios, bebe un té de jengibre con miel de abeja.
Té para aumentar la producción de leche
Una cucharada de te de anís
Una cucharada de hinojo
Una cucharada de semillas de comino.
Hervir por 10 minutos, colar y tomar.
Practica yoga
Después de 2 semanas practica los siguientes ejercicios de yoga sugeridos por las autoras del libro A woman´s book of yoga: Machelle Seibel y Hari Kaur Khalsa.
- Recuéstate sobre la espalda y cruza las piernas a la altura de los tobillos y aprieta los muslos. Inhala, eleva la cabeza y cuenta hasta cinco y relájate. Repite este ejercicio 10 veces en la mañana y en la noche.
- Recuéstate sobre la espalda con tus piernas estiradas. Eleva la pierna derecha unos centímetros fuera del piso, pero deja el pie apoyado en el piso. Con el brazo izquierdo trata de estirarte y alcanzar la rodilla que está fuera del piso. Cuenta 5 tiempos y descansa. Puedes hacer estos ejercicios dos veces al día, 10 veces en cada lado.
- Aún recostada sobre tu espalda, dobla tus rodillas y llévalas al pecho. Apoya las manos debajo de la espalda. Aprieta los músculos de los glúteos y presiona los músculos abdominales hacia el piso. Eleva la cabeza fuera del piso y llévala en dirección al pecho hasta que los músculos del abdomen se contraigan. Repite 10 veces al día en la mañana y en la noche.
